Recirculating aquaculture, fish health and pond fertilization workshops will highlight the 2007 Ohio Aquaculture Association's annual meeting and conference Feb. 9 at University Plaza Hotel in Columbus.
The event will be in conjunction with the North Central Region Aquaculture Center annual meeting and is co-sponsored by Ohio State University's Ohio Center for Aquaculture Development, located at South Centers at Piketon in Piketon.
The conference will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with an OAA business meeting and reception afterward. Registration to attend the meeting and the banquet is $65, which includes sessions, lunch, reception and one associate membership. The cost to bring a spouse is an additional $50.
Agenda topics include:mini workshops on recirculating aquaculture; fish health; and pond fertilization and fingerling production, as well as one-hour sessions on bluegill; yellow perch; baitfish; largemouth bass; tilapia; freshwater shrimp; and the business of aquaculture. Presenters include aquaculturists from Ohio State University, as well as industry specialists.
The conference also includes a trade show, which runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
