Please find below information on a recent Australian consumer level food recall. This information is also available on our website at www.foodstandards.gov.au

 

Date Notified To FSANZ:  29 December 2006

 

Food Product:  Cooked Black Tiger Prawns

 

Name of Product:  Neptune

 

Package Description & Size:  Polythene Plastic Bag – 1kg

 

Use By Date Or Lot Code:  Best Before 11/09/08

 

Australian Distribution:  NSW

 

Overseas Distribution:  Nil

 

Reason for Recall:  Foreign Matter – Metal

 

Comments:  F ROZEN NEPTUNE PRAWNS

 

1kg IQF cooked black tiger prawns (Product of Vietnam) “ Best Before” date of 11/09/2008

 

This product is being recalled due to the possible presence of metal.   The product has been sold only through a wholesaler in Newcastle, New South Wales.

 

Consumers who have the above product should return it to the point of purchase for a full refund.
