Chief of Tambon Bang Sadet (บางเสด็จ) Local Administration Organization, Suthep Kakaew (สุเทพ กาแก้ว) says residents of the Ayutthaya and Ang Thong provinces are disappointed with the Cabinets conclusion on the polluted water in Chao Phraya River.
However, the residents do not give up and insist that the authority keeps investigating the waste water system of the monosodium glutamate factory which they still believe to be the cause of the polluted water.
Mr Suthep says further that the residents only want the authority to find those responsible for the polluted water. They do not believe that a shipwreck accident of a sugar ship is the main cause of the polluted water as the Cabinet meeting concluded.
According to Mr Suthep, an investigating official of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) used to assure the residents that the investigation into the polluted water will be continued by DSI despite the Cabinets conclusion on the case. In addition, he says he will try to find a report on the investigation conducted by the Engineering Institute of Thailand (EIT). The EIT report says the monosodium glutamate has released the total amount of 30,000 tonnes of waste water to the Chao Phraya River. There has been no report about the factorys expense on the waste water treatment.
Meanwhile, a leader of fish farmers in Ayutthaya, Srinuan H-angkarb (ศรีนวล หาอังกาบ) says the farmers are confused and disheartened by the Cabinets conclusion.
